At The
Crossing
By Cindy Nunley
How
many know that your calling is according to the purpose of
God?
Turn with me to Romans 8:28
Rom 8:28
We are assured and know that [God
being a partner in their labor]
all things work together and are [fitting
into a plan] for good to
and for those who love God and are called according to [His]
design and purpose.
Rom 8:29
For those whom He foreknew [of
whom He was aware and loved beforehand],
He also destined from the beginning [foreordaining
them] to be molded into the
image of His Son [and
share inwardly His likeness],
that He might become the firstborn among many brethren.
Rom 8:30
And those whom He thus foreordained, He also called; and
those whom He called, He also justified (acquitted, made
righteous, putting them into right standing with Himself).
And those whom He justified, He also glorified [raising
them to a heavenly dignity and condition or state of being].
Rom 8:31
What then shall we say to [all]
this? If God is for us, who [can
be] against us? [Who
can be our foe, if God is on our side?]
[Psalms 118:6]
Rom 8:32
He who did not withhold or spare [even]
His own Son but gave Him up for us all, will He not also
with Him freely and graciously give us all [other]
things?
You see I want to preface what I speak on further,
with the fact that the purpose of our calling is in Him.
Eph 1:11
says, according to the purpose,
Eph 3:1
says, According to the eternal purpose, and
2Tim 1:9
says, According to His eternal purpose and grace.
Let me make it clear that it is not a number of things or
purposes, but One!
And that single and comprehensive purpose is to manifest the
Christ, Jesus!!!
And if you ask further about Jesus the answer is simply
this. To have Him fill all things and to have all things in
Him. Without knowing what our purpose is, we can not
cross over into the promised land.
Austin T. Sparks wrote this:
"The presence of the Church in this world is, firstly, to be
a corporate expression of Christ here. The very designation
"The Body of Christ" means Christ corporately present. The
church is not an institution, organization, society or
religious fraternity. It is, in God's intention the
embodiment of Jesus in a continuation of His life and work
on this earth. In the next place after the being of the
Church is its work. This is just one thing, and by the one
result its work stands or falls. This work is to make for
an increase of Christ in this world, and this is to be
accomplished along two lines; namely, by evangelism and
building up."
Now I could take this further, but I believe I've made the
point of the the purpose of God for all of our lives.
So let me take this into a little different direction with
the basis for our existence as Christians being
established.
The church on the whole came and is coming to a cross roads,
and I liken it to crossing from the wilderness into the
promised land, or crossing the Jordan. Again, please
keep in mind the whole purpose is to bring in Christ and to
bring into Christ.!
If you can picture standing at the river bank. The
river is swollen and flooded, and yet you have been given a
direct order to cross over, and as you take a step into the
water, all the water is rolled back in order that you and
those following may cross over without any incident.
Wouldn't that build your trust in your commander sky high?
Rom 8:38
For I am persuaded beyond doubt (am sure) that neither death
nor life, nor angels nor principalities, nor things
impending and threatening nor things to come, nor powers,
Rom 8:39
Nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation will
be able to separate us from the love of God which is in
Christ Jesus our Lord.
And it is His love that says you can fulfill your purpose in
Him. That's a sure thing!
One of the greatest hindrances to being able to cross over
is the unwillingness to let go of the past. I
promise you , you will be tempted, because the will of God
never comes without opposition. And stuff (stupid
things
u find fascinating) will always try to get in the way of
your progress in God.
But God... But God has a purpose and He has a plan for you!
Phi 3:12
Not that I have now attained [this
ideal], or have already
been made perfect, but I press on to lay hold of (grasp) and
make my own, that for which Christ Jesus (the Messiah) has
laid hold of me and made me His own.
Phi 3:13
I do not consider, brethren, that I have captured and made
it my own [yet];
but one thing I do [it
is my one aspiration]:
forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what
lies ahead,
Phi 3:14
I press on toward the goal to win the [supreme
and heavenly] prize to
which God in Christ Jesus is calling us upward.
When you come into the knowledge of the need for your
obedience to verse 13, you will realize the authority
of God in your life and through your life to a greater
degree.
And this authority is what you will need to walk in
when you are in the promised land.
Isa 28:10
For it is [His
prophets repeating over and over]:
precept upon precept, precept upon precept, rule upon rule,
rule upon rule; here a little, there a little.
As you increase in hearing the word (revelation of God) and
you increase in obedience to it, you will walk in greater
authority.
It's our hearts and the condition of them that determine the
authority level we will walk in.
The crossing over is simply this, to step into a new realm
of authority in order fulfill another measure of the purpose
of God in your life.
Beloved,
I hope this insight into the Word of God has blessed you.
Father,
I thank you that those who read this message are quickened
by your Spirit. I thank You that they are challenged
to check their hearts and are willing to embrace the changes
that You have for their lives to bring them
into a greater realm of fullness.
In Jesus Name, Amen!
