Reformation
By George Nunley
Please turn with
me to the Book of Isaiah chapter 64.
Isa 64:1 Oh, that thou wouldest rend the heavens, that thou
wouldest come down, that the mountains might flow down at
thy presence,
2 As when the melting fire burneth, the fire causeth the
waters to boil, to make thy name known to thine adversaries,
that the nations may tremble at thy presence!
3 When thou didst terrible things which we looked not for,
thou camest down, the mountains flowed down at thy presence.
4 For since the beginning of the world men have not heard,
nor perceived by the ear, neither hath the eye seen, O God,
beside thee, what he hath prepared for him that waiteth for
him. (KJV)
In these passages we see the prophet Isaiah nearing the end
of his ministry, crying out to God in a prophetic prayer,
calling for a great visitation from the Lord to come and
bring a great change. This great prophet, who spoke much of
the Messiah, knew that God would come in a way that His
people did not expect. Such is usually the response of the
crowd of the day. We have our safe doctrine and our
theories all put together, and are convinced that He is
going to appear in this manner or that. Then when He does
appear, He does it in a way that we don’t expect, and
because He hasn’t followed our neat plans we reject Him and
miss our day of visitation. (see Luke19:44)
Beloved, let us
be sure of one thing, by nature we are not different from
those who were alive when Jesus walked on earth, many of
whom rejected Jesus as the Messiah, the very One they had
been waiting for with eager anticipation. How could this
happen? We must learn from their mistake so that we do not
repeat history in the negative sense.
Our relationship
with Him must be of greater importance than our doctrines.
If our relationship is strong, then He can correct our
doctrine as needed by the working of the Holy Spirit within
us. We must remain open to change for this to happen! If
we become arrogant, and think that we have all the answers,
then we are setting ourselves up for a fall. Let us humble
ourselves and know that He, alone, has all the answers. He
will give us the answers when we need them. He desires us
to walk by faith and not by sight, trusting in and relying
on Him, constantly being changed into “His very own image
from glory to glory even as by the Spirit of the Lord.”
(2Cor. 3:18)
A time of
reformation is upon us, a time in which all things will be
changed, for the kingdoms of this world must become the
kingdoms of our Lord and Christ. (Rev. 11:15 KJV)
Dear ones,
prepare your hearts for great change, determine to be as new
wine skins. Don’t get stuck in the past, in that which is
destined to pass away. Open your hearts to receive that
glory that the Apostle Paul said is to be revealed in us.
(Romans 8:18) “Just as it is written, eye hath not seen,
nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man,
the things that God hath prepared for those that love Him.”
(1Cor. 2:9 KJV).
Father we Bless You!
