Born in Charleston, West Virginia,
in 1957, George Nunley grew up in humble surroundings.
The Nunleys, not a church going family, did not raise their
son in a Christian home. His first exposure to the
things of God came when he was invited to attend a
revival meeting at a Missionary Baptist church. It was
there that he received the Lord as his savior.
The experience, however, did not keep him from falling and
entering a period of backsliding, which saw George
experimenting with alcohol and drugs. This pattern of
behavior continued for a period of several years before the
Lord penetrated it, through the implacable faith and love of
a nine year-old boy, who refused to let George
self-destruct. Through the child, George was led to a
place where he was
encouraged to face his own frailties. It was here that he was set free from his
addictions, and received the baptism of the Holy Spirit.
From such
beginnings God has and is developing a servant who, with His
prompting, has launched a number of churches, from Alaska to
New York State, each one still enjoying immeasurable
success, as it strives to bring its fold to a fuller
understanding and love of God. New York State also boasts a
new Christian college, as a result of George's participation
as director.
As a servant , George has watched God open blind eyes and deaf
ears, and heal all manner of illnesses, even cancer.
The call to the Church for this hour is one of restoration
and revival. Throughout the Christian world, God is
calling His children together, to repair the breaches in the
walls of His temple. Ministerial visits throughout the
world enlarged George's understanding of the immediacy of
this need.
Nothing is more important to any believer than to be
obedient to the call of God for his life. This is where
the Lord has chosen to use George Nunley. Because of
his understanding, and his years of experience throughout
the believing world, George has been able to assist many
churches and pastors, as they negotiate the path toward
restoration and revival.
